What's going on with you?


BloomThrough my window, I can see it basking in the warm glow. From this distance, it looks just like a small mound of dirt at the far end of my backyard. But as you get closer, you see there is more to it. A delicate, green sprout pokes its head out from the ground, as if to say hello and chat about the weather for awhile. It may not look like much at first, but it has deep roots. It is secure enough for now. I swivel in my chair and return to typing. I can't remember for how long that plant has been with me, but I'd rather not know. It's a lot more interesting that way. Nevertheless, I go out every day to tend to it. I can only wonder at tBloom


Cross CastleThe tourist fumbled around with his fanny pack for his camera. He found Tic-Tacs, his pain medications, chewable Tums, a toothbrush, his cell phone, toe-nail clippers; everything but his camera. He mulled over his thoughts and tried to track all his movements throughout the day. At 8:00 a.m. he woke up to the sounds of the person in the next room coughing loudly. Then he took a quick shower, got dressed, and had a quick breakfast at the restaurant next door to the hotel. Eggs, bacon and toast with coffee. Afterward he took a bus down to London and took the typical tour of the sights; the zebra crossing on Abbey Road, Big Ben, the Houses of PaCross Castle


ElevatorThe lanky, angular pitcher stepped up to the mound, his eyes like darts on the batters black and white striped outfit. His cleats scratched up wisps of dry dirt as he paced in place. A repetitive chant echoed throughout the crowd; HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!, they roared. The batter smiled with assured confidence, waving his bat in front of him as if he was envisioning his play; his grinning, tobacco-stained teeth reflected the stadiums lighting like a solar panel. He sat back, waiting for the pitch. The pitcher wiped a stray bead of sweat from his brow. The visiting team led the game 2-1 with two outs at the bottom of theElevator
